Frequently Asked Questions About Flooring Works
In general, many modern floor coverings are approved for underfloor heating today. Tiles, natural stone, and vinyl or design flooring are the most efficient, as they have the lowest thermal resistance and quickly conduct heat into the room. Parquet is also possible, but should be fully bonded/glued down so that no insulating layer of air forms. When purchasing, it is important to look for the appropriate manufacturer symbol (heating coil with arrows).
Click vinyl: Installed floating (without a fixed connection to the subfloor). It compensates better for minor unevenness, is usually thicker, and can be removed extremely quickly and without damage if you move out.
Glue-down vinyl: The planks are firmly glued to the screed. This makes the floor extremely durable, offers excellent room acoustics (minimal walking noise), and has a very low profile height. It is also the safest option for wet areas such as bathrooms.
Before installation, we check the residual moisture of the screed (especially important in new builds).
Uneven areas, old adhesive residues, or cracks are professionally sanded, filled, or completely smoothed out using a levelling compound. Only when the subfloor is perfectly prepared do we start with the actual installation.
