Frequently Asked Questions About Tiling Works
Yes, the tile-on-tile installation method is possible in many cases and saves both time and debris. However, the prerequisite is that the old surface is completely firm, load-bearing, level, and free of hollow spots. After thorough cleaning, we apply a special bonding primer before the new tiles are laid. If any old tiles are already loose, they must be removed beforehand.
Class 1 & 2: For barefoot or light footwear areas (e.g. bathrooms, bedrooms).
Class 3: For normal residential traffic (e.g. living rooms, hallways).
Class 4 & 5: For high traffic and heavy wear (e.g. kitchens, entryways, terraces, or commercial spaces).
We advise you on the right choice for every room so that your floor looks like new even after years of use.
Earthenware: Softer, easy to cut, and absorbs a lot of water. It is suitable only for indoor walls.
Stoneware: More robust and well-suited as standard indoor flooring.
Porcelain stoneware: Pressed under extremely high pressure and fired at very high temperatures. It absorbs virtually no water (≤ 0.5%) and is therefore extremely hard, wear-resistant, and frost-proof – ideal for underfloor heating, high-traffic areas, and outdoor spaces.
Important: Avoid long-term use of highly acidic cleaners (e.g. vinegar or citric acid cleaners), as they can attack cementitious grout lines and make them porous. For silicone joints in the shower area, we recommend quickly drying them with a squeegee after bathing to effectively prevent mold growth.
